Walk, walk, fashion baby! El Paso designer Jose Gaucin is back, and he has done it again. “GAUCIN Couture”” returned to grace El Paso’s fashion scene with a special line of looks for this year’s fall/winter collection. Gorgeous corsets, elegant gowns and exotic headpieces all upscaled the young designer’s craft to a whole new measure.
Gorgeous corsets, elegant gowns and exotic headpieces all handmade from repurposed items like shower curtains, various fabrics and even sheer tablecloths all repurposed to an upscale look. The young designer demonstrates a remarkable evolution in his craft to a whole new measure.
Gaucin started the show with an interpretive dance sequence that set the mood. El Paso locals were left starstruck, wondering what would occur next. Shortly after, models began to strut the runway showcasing all the handcrafted pieces Gaucin put together.
From over 40 high fashion looks with a sailor-esque theme, all outfits were accompanied by intricate hairstyles that framed the models’ face with a wet look, adding to the vision of the ‘fresh out of the water’ look.
With this collection, Gaucin elevated his craft, only proving to the community the dedication and admiration he has for his fashion.
“It’s always a success but I feel very successful within my mind,” Gaucin said. “I put so much work and effort into it, like more than six months creating this creative direction, creating outfits, all the sleepless nights. I just feel very happy.”

El Paso local, Ana Martinez, shared her input after being stunned by not only a captivating clothing line but from the dance performance as well.
“You can see all the dedication that he put into it,” Martinez said. “I love that he incorporated dance; it has been one of my favorite art aspects and I think incorporating it with fashion is just one of the most beautiful things that you can do, and it left me mesmerized.”
In a venue filled with beautiful light fixtures and chandeliers that raise the ambience, attendees were left highly impressed with the designer’s creations.
Model Kylie Denison walked down the runway with confidence wearing a custom white dress. She expressed her thoughts on working alongside Gaucin and how his craft feels to her.
“He’s a very talented designer, all his designs are just amazing to look at, very high fashion and they feel amazing to walk in,” Denison. “You feel so confident in them and the whole team is so very nice to work with. It makes me feel amazing to be a part of something that could go so far, and I am glad to be a part of the beginning of it.”
Model Aniela Orozzo also walked the runway, and she shared how it felt to be working for Gaucin.
“It is an honor to be able to be part of this amazing collection,” Orozzo said. “It is my first time walking for him but it’s amazing, the environment, the way he treats people. The talent he has is indescribable.”
As Gaucin continues to explore fashion, he said he strives to make it more than just about fabrics, rather to take it to a whole different meaning. Gaucin envisions different approaches for his future line, sharing that he wants to remain staying true to his cultural ties of Mexican culture but incorporating more western themes. With the idea of expanding through the state of Texas, he told Minero Magazine to “stay tuned.”
Closing out the night with another successful collection, Gaucin is a testament to the new wave of fashion in the Sun City.
